Nishiki Colorado Comp
Model/Year: 2017Pros:
Nishiki Colorado 29er Mountain Bike
29er wheels, suprb frame proportion, durable, enjoyable, not expensive.Cons: Heavy, factory saddle, tires
Recommendation: I have three Nishiki Colorado 29er models purchased in 2014, 2015 and 2017. Only 2014 model has front suspension lock switch and much better tire tred. Next year models do not have lock out switch and tires with much less tred. Overal the bikes are great, durable and enjoyable. Two of my bikes are 16' frame. I bought 18' frame a couple of weeks ago at Dicks. It was on sale for $299. Using coupon and promotions I ended up paying $210. It is a great deal for this bike with Shimano configurations, disk brakes, 21 speed snd 29' tires.
Pros: 29' Tires, Frame Proportion, Durability, Decent Components
Cons: Tire's Small Tread, Cheap Small Pedals
Recommendation: A great mountain bike for someone starting out and/or on a limited budget. I have run it hard 8 different occasions during the couple months I have owned it. I like the feel of the 29' tire with a hard tail. The frame has good proportions (not to long or short). It is durable, I have crashed a couple times and have not broken anything. The components work well; I wish the brake levers were separate from the shifters for greater adjustability (personal preference). Comes with cheap small pedals: I replaced them with some larger alloys, may also get a clipless setup. Tires are ok; they've held up so far but the micro tread doesn't bite well to roots and rocks. Will eventually upgrade to a Maxxis with more aggressive tread. With all that said, I am still very pleased with my purchase and can see me holding onto the bike for a long time.

Every component on the bike has given me issues, hanger snaped 30 feet from the store, rear cassette wore out due to improper alignment from DICKS, bottom bracket gave out 6mts in front tire clasped like a tin can.
